I took these pics of records from someone's great collection at the MSP Music Expo in Minneapolis. I'm just now posting them! Of course I forgot the guy's name who they belonged to, so if you see this send me an email so I can give you credit!

You need to feature Wing (http://www.wingmusic.co.nz) on your site. Her take on "Close To You" is priceless, as are most other sound clips on her site.

Enjoy... Sean

BR: Recently, Wing was featured on an episode of South Park. I'd like to think they saw her on this site! But I doubt it!

Your site is hilarious!! I came across this CD cover. It was posted on ebay and there was a real bidding war for it!

Cheers, Pina

BR: Don't know if this is real or a Photoshop...

I noticed the "LaToya Jackson & Lynn Anderson" CD-cover that you have on the Letters section. I can assure you it is a real cover. I own a second-hand CD-store in Norway, and I must admit I actually have that CD on my shelf! It's been there quite a while.... I wonder why ;) I think this is actually just a very very strange pairing of the two performers. I can't really imagine ANYONE being after both of them. I'm fairly sure a truckload of this ended up on a landfill somewhere.

Hey Dude! just found a couple more of my old record covers from my Gospel singing days which can go along with the other email i just sent you a little while ago.

Take Care,
David Runner

Hallo,

I am writing from Greece. Since Greece is "the bridge between the western and the eastern civilization", we have great underground and trashy music tradition. One of my favourites and well known artists is Yannis Floriniotis. I send you his last record cover with the title"The Children of the Night".

You can visit Yannis Floriniotis' web site at www.floriniotis.gr . The intro page is one of the best. the blonde chick that appears at the end of the intro video is his daughter Annoula (little Anna) who has done quite many plastic surgery as her father.

Christos

I know this comes from a cassette, but I found something about the cover quite absurd.
1. It's a Gospel album
2. The fact that this couple are in flames would indicate they have been sinning up something fierce (note that rather ominous, disturbing grin on russ' face)
3.If I am looking for Jesus, fire isn't the exact attribute i'd associate with the son of God

My name is Matt Farley. I'm in the little-known band, Moes Haven. Our next album is called IF NOT US, WHO? and it features three songs that were inspired by your book THE WORST ALBUM COVERS EVER! We loved the book so much that we ended up writing about 20 songs based on the album covers. On this particular album, we included "How To Overcome Discouragement," "Lopin' Through the Cosmos" and "Couch and Consultation." They're completely original songs--other than the titles. We'd be interested in hearing what you think of these songs. And hopefully we'll get around to putting out some of the other songs your book inspired. "Joyce" and "Carpet Square" are two of my favorites.

Eilert Pilarm has released some records (cd's I'm sure --BR) with Elvis covers. He's a bit mentally disturbed and one day he woked up and thought that he was Elvis. Before he got famous he released only tapes with his music. He can't speak english so he's only copying what Elvis sings!! So sometimes he gets the words wrong!!
Here's a website about him in english

best wishes, Krister

Hello, my name is Peter and I recently purchased your book here in Sweden. And i love every page of it. I send you a image from my record collection, maybe you have seen it before, the group is called Waterloo and thats all i know about them.

--who knows, some Abba cover band maybe?? - BR

Hi, Here's a fantastic edition to your Children's section. Allow me to introduce The Mini Pops. The Mini Pops were a group of kids from 80's that sang and danced. The had seven albums and two videos. I was a kid in the 80's and the listened to the Mini Pops. HOWEVER, they had this one Christmas Album that was ABSOLUTELY atrocious, I swear it caused my phono preamp to blow up when I tried to mp3 it, and I swore I WOULD NEVER mp3 it. However, aside from that ear /brain shattering Deck The Halls, these kids were actually VERY talented, and the main song they are known for, Video Killed The Radio Star, is a smooth, very professional, well made performance.

For info, see MiniPopsMagic

There was no cover for this (just a white sleeve),
but check out the center label! Ian

Nick, I'm following through on my threat to send you a couple of covers.
First is Combo Maravilla. What sets it apart is, of course, the cover. Obviously, the woman on it is NOT pleased with whoever stuck that pair of eighth notes on her hip. Was someone trying to tell her something?
Next up is Moostash Joe. In my part of the country, polka is king. At the record store one night, I happened upon a HUGE collection of polka, schlager, and just plain German albums that were being thrown out. I walked this little gem home with me simply because of the outrageous bird costume - Frankie Yankovic's got nothing on this one!

Yet another unknown sub-sub-genre of recorded music! This site is made by Miha Mazzini, who has sent me some records for my website.

France is a kind of special paradise. I gave up some years ago. My 400 + collection of unknown gems rests in a garage!
--Ben in France
I have plenty. This is just a taste.
--Sergio from Brazil
I'm sending you JPG files of two albums, which you might find suitably bizarre. The first one is by Frank Valdor (Somerset 734), a German bandleader who released several albums in the 60's and 70's. He has several album covers in the same vein as this one, which also includes the nice touch with the girl's headphones.

Jamppa Tuominen was a Finnish schlager singer. The name of the album in English is "If You Can Trust a Friend" (CBS 82803).

--Cheers, Mark

Here's another one from The Department of records:

I laughed out loud when I saw this one at the flea market yesterday. Naturally, I'm sharing it with you. Enjoy. First one's the full cover, second's a shot from the back. I wonder whose idea it was to call her Shorty! Not a bad singer, though...
